Event Volunteer 23 October - 7 November 2026 at Petworth Festival : Volunteering

We're looking for volunteers to join our team this October at the Petworth Literature Festival! Calling all book lovers, aspiring publishing professionals, and BookTok enthusiasts!

We have many public-facing volunteer roles available such as bar staff, scanning tickets, stewarding, ticket sales, and book sales.

The opportunity to watch the event from the side of the venue once your duties are complete. Refreshments are also provided.

An invitation to the Summer Festival launch in March

Volunteer roles are based in Petworth and occasionally Midhurst. Please note that public transport to Petworth is limited, so access to a car may be helpful.

Are you a student looking to gain insight into the world of publishing? Or perhaps you're an enthusiastic reader who would enjoy sharing your passion for books with others? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

What skills do I need?

None required, but most of our roles are customer-facing in a busy environment.

As long as you are confident and happy to talk to the public, then any of our roles are for you.

All volunteers will need to attend our 'Meet the Team' session prior to volunteering with us.

If you sign up for a scanning tickets or sales role, you will be given the necessary training prior to your shift.

Details

We have events everyday from 23 October - 7 November. We use a signup app and website, where volunteers can choose which event works for them, based on date and timings. These volunteering roles are flexible and made for everyone!
