Reading Coaches - Chichester & Bognor Regis

Due to an increase of applications from readers we are seeking volunteer reading coaches in Chichester and Bognor Regis. Once trained, you will be working on a one to one basis with an adult who want to improve their reading. Meeting with your reader each week you will then help them work through the Read Easy phonics-based reading programme.

Coaching takes place in public places, for example libraries or cafes. As a Reading Coach you will also receive support from a Coordinator and a Literacy Specialist

What skills do I need?

• Confident reading skills and a clear communicator.
• An ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and understanding.
• The ability to focus on your reader and their needs
• A commitment to maintain confidentiality and volunteer within Read Easy’s guidelines and policies
• A willingness to commit to the required training
• Reasonable confidence in using IT

When do I need to be available?
