PAT Tester

Help us raise vital funds by ensuring donated products are safe to sell.

We are looking for organised and dependable volunteers to help ensure donated electrical items are safe, compliant, and suitable for sale by carrying out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and basic visual inspections.

What you will be doing:

  • Carrying out visual safety checks on donated electrical items.
  • Conducting PAT tests using our testing equipment.
  • Labelling tested items and recording results.
  • Identifying items that are safe for sale and those that need to be recycled.
  • Helping maintain a safe, clean, and organised testing area.

We are flexible and appreciate any time you can give. Ideally, volunteers can commit to one regular shift per week of around 3-6 hours, but we are happy to discuss arrangements that fit around your availability. This role is ideal for anyone interested in electrical safety, practical hands-on volunteering, developing new skills, or supporting their local community.
